Prendersi cura (Taking care)
Septemper 12th 2026
3:00pm-10:30pm

On Saturday 12 September, we look forward to seeing you at the ARCI Club “La Montanina” in Montebeni, just a few minutes from Florence, for a day dedicated to photography.
We will be opening the exhibition “Prendersi cura” (Caring), featuring projects selected from our open call by Francesca Gelli, Gaia Maggio, Lorenzo Saterini, Matilde Gucciardi and Susanna Guidi.
We will also be hosting a selection of photographs by Giulia Bersani on the theme of care; for years, she has been exploring the body and identity through an intimate and unfiltered lens.
This will be an opportunity to meet Giulia Bersani and learn more about her work during a talk, as well as to take part in a workshop led by her and Margherita Amadio on the theme of ‘the subversive potential of care (in photography and beyond)’.The day will also be enriched by a bookbinding workshop organised by Concretipo and an experimental cyanotype workshop with Camera 38. Finally, during the event, you’ll find a fanzine library curated by Tramezine, a Florentine festival of micro-publishing in photography. And, of course, to round it all off, there’ll be natural wine from Zonzo Project and some great music.

We look forward to seeing you from 3.00 pm!

WORKSHOPS*

Bookbinding Workshop organised by Concretipo

Guided by Concretipo, you’ll experiment with unbleached paper, different paper weights and a colour palette to mix and match, transforming simple sheets cut to size into pages of memories. Discover the accordion-fold binding technique, hone your eye by choosing from different types of paper to pair together, and learn how to create and personalise your own bindings: all you need is curiosity, attention to detail and a desire to experiment. Concretipo will take care of the rest, guiding you every step of the way until your album comes to life.

The Subversive Potential of Care (in Photography and Beyond) a workshop by Giulia Bersani and Margherita Amadio

What connections exist between care and photography? Can there be such a thing as a ‘photography of care’? And what about ‘photographic care’? What characteristics might these have? What might their subversive potential be? In this experimental workshop, designed for anyone who is curious and keen to get involved, we will start with these very questions to build, together, a safe and non-judgemental space, before concluding with a short photographic exercise.
